Artist Spotlight in Fine Art America’s “The Road to Self-Promotion”
This week, I had the honor of being selected for an Artist Spotlight inside the Fine Art America group “The Road to Self-Promotion,” a community led by artist and curator Kim Hojnacki.

I want to begin by saying a sincere thank-you to Kim for creating and maintaining one of the most thoughtful and supportive spaces for working artists on Fine Art America. This group is not just about promotion. It is about encouragement, learning, accountability, and helping artists find their voice in a very noisy online world.
Being featured there is something I truly appreciate.
Why this spotlight matters
Fine Art America is home to an enormous global community of artists and collectors. Getting noticed inside such a vast platform is never guaranteed. What makes The Road to Self-Promotion special is that it focuses on the part of being an artist that so many struggle with.
How do you put your work out there without feeling awkward
How do you talk about your art without sounding like a salesperson
How do you grow visibility in a space where millions of images compete for attention
This group exists to help artists answer those questions in a healthy, practical way.
To be chosen for an Artist Spotlight in that environment means more than simply having a nice image. It means the work is connecting with people, and the journey behind it is resonating with fellow creators.
A long road and a grateful heart
Like many artists, I did not start out knowing how to promote myself. I started out simply loving photography. Over time, I learned that creating the work is only part of the calling. Sharing it, telling its story, and allowing others to experience it is just as important.
Today my Fine Art America gallery has welcomed millions of visitors from around the world, and my images now hang in homes, hospitals, offices, and private collections across multiple countries. None of that happened overnight. It came from consistency, community, learning, and showing up even when it felt uncomfortable.
That is why this spotlight feels meaningful. It represents not just a single image, but years of growth, risk, and persistence.

Kim, thank you for seeing my work and for featuring it in your group. Thank you for creating a place where artists are encouraged to step forward rather than hide. And thank you for giving so many creatives a platform where they feel safe to grow.
