How My Photography Lessons Work
Every photographer is different, so every lesson I teach is different. My photography lessons are personalized around you, your camera, your experience, and what you want to accomplish.
Maybe you just bought your first camera and want to finally get out of Auto mode. Maybe you understand the basics but struggle with composition, exposure, or getting the image you see in your mind. Or perhaps you’re an experienced photographer who wants to improve your landscape and travel photography, master Photoshop and Adobe Camera Raw, or take your work to a more professional level.
We start with where you are today and focus on the areas that will make the biggest difference in your photography. You’ll learn by doing, asking questions, working with your own equipment, and applying what you learn to real-world photography.
There is no one-size-fits-all curriculum. Your photography lesson is built around you and where you want your photography to go.

Photography Lessons in Eagan, Minneapolis & the Twin Cities
My photography studio is located in Eagan, Minnesota, conveniently located for photographers throughout Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the Twin Cities. Students can meet with me at my studio for personalized, one-on-one photography instruction, or we can take the lesson into the field at one of the many great photography locations around Minneapolis and St. Paul. Hands-on, real-world instruction is often one of the best ways to learn your camera, understand light, improve composition, and build confidence behind the lens. If meeting in person isn’t practical, I also offer private online photography lessons through Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, allowing us to work together wherever you are.
About Your Photography Instructor

Hi, I’m Wayne Moran, a professional landscape and travel photographer based in Eagan, Minnesota. I’ve spent more than two decades developing my craft, photographing extraordinary places throughout Minnesota, across the United States, and around the world.

But knowing how to create a great photograph and knowing how to teach someone else to create one are two very different skills.
My approach to teaching is practical, personal, and hands-on. I want you to understand not just what camera setting to use, but why you would use it and how it changes the photograph you create. We work with your camera, your goals, and the kinds of images you want to make.

My photography has been used by organizations including Explore Minnesota, Sun Country Airlines, Travel Wisconsin, Mall of America, Meet Minneapolis, and M Health University of Minnesota Hospital. My fine-art photography is also collected for homes, offices, healthcare facilities, and other commercial spaces.

That real-world experience comes into every lesson I teach. Whether we’re talking about camera settings, composition, landscape and travel photography, Adobe Camera Raw, Photoshop, or even how to sell your photography, I’m teaching from years of actually doing the work.

Most importantly, your lesson isn’t about learning to photograph like me. It’s about helping you become a better version of the photographer you want to be.
